Criminal Law
Jonathan’s criminal experience includes both Defence and Prosecution work. He has conducted this work for a number of years, thereby gaining invaluable experience in and understanding of the operational procedures of the CPS. He currently focuses on Defence, his caseload is varied and he takes a flexible and thorough approach to his work.
He has recently been successful at the Court of Appeal on numerous occasions on appeals against both sentences and convictions. Jonathan maintains a realistic and empathetic approach with clients and a measured and robust approach to his advocacy and his drafting.
Immigration Law
Jonathan has always taken a keen interest in immigration and asylum from his undergraduate days as a law student at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Over many years he has been instructed, and continues to be instructed on many asylum, entry clearance, EEA, human rights and visa cases, appearing at First Tier Tribunals, Upper Tribunals and at Judicial Review hearings. He has an understanding of the many and complex problems clients from various countries face and addresses these issues in a precise and concise manner.
Civil
Alex accepts instructions on a wide range of civil matters having dealt with a number of portal and PI cases, applications to set aside default judgment and possession orders.
